BRAZIL - The manufacturer Itaipu Transformadores has partnered with Cargill BioIndustrial to use the FR3® natural ester fluid for their new line of ecological transformers.

Itaipu Transformadores' ecological transformer line was designed to ensure environmental safety, with a fluid that prevents the contamination of rivers, springs and groundwater in case of leakage, the manufacturer said in a media release.

The ecological transformers offer power from 5 to 25,000 kVA, also featuring a renewable source for insulating oil and low flammability.

The manufacturer has partnered with Cargill BioIndustrial, whose natural ester dielectric fluid is designed as an environmentally friendly insulating alternative to mineral oils.

"We understand how the environment is fundamental for the development of our society. Therefore, we have structured a transformer that can guarantee energy, quality and care for nature," a source from the company said.
