Ipsum Group Acquires Rosh Engineering to Expand UK High-Voltage Services
Ipsum Group has acquired Rosh Engineering Ltd, a UK company specializing in power transformers and high-voltage (HV) services, as part of its technical expansion in the UK power sector. The acquisition combines Rosh Engineering’s transformer expertise with Ipsum Group’s existing high-voltage and grid infrastructure capabilities.
Founded in 1981 and based in Blaydon-on-Tyne, Rosh Engineering provides services across the transformer lifecycle, including installation, commissioning, condition monitoring, cooling system maintenance, refurbishment, life extension, decommissioning, and workshop-based fabrication. The company holds ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 certifications and has received multiple RoSPA President’s Awards for safety.
Ipsum Group operates across Power, Water, Infrastructure, and Telecoms, providing services such as high-voltage network design, grid connection, control systems, and infrastructure management. Its clients include utilities, distribution network operators (DNOs), independent network operators (IDNOs), and private network operators in the UK.
The acquisition allows the combined companies to provide integrated high-voltage solutions to UK energy networks. Andrew Cowan, Chief Executive Officer of Ipsum Group, stated that the move is intended to expand high-voltage engineering capability. Ian Dormer, Managing Director of Rosh Engineering, said joining Ipsum provides access to additional project opportunities and resources.
