Interview with Jon Trout, Manager of Transmission Design, FirstEnergy

Jon Trout is Manager of Transmission Design for FirstEnergy, an electric utility involved in distribution, transmission, and generation of electric power headquartered in Akron, Ohio.

Trout previously worked with transformer manufacturers to supply FirstEnergy with reliable electric power system equipment. He has experienced many changes in the world of transformer technology over the years, and we were curious to find out what changes he considers to be the most important.

Alan Ross, Editor in Chief of Transformer Technology magazine, spoke with Trout about what changes he's seen so far in terms of design, manufacturing, and application, and how those changes might affect resiliency and reliability in years to come.
