With three locations across Quebec, Ontario, and Alberta, Surplec provides a range of services, including transformer sales, repairs, leases, technical field services, and engineering. This acquisition strengthens IPS's power management and remanufacturing capabilities, complementing their previous acquisitions and enabling further expansion in Canada. IPS President & CEO, John Zuleger, expressed the importance of Surplec's expertise in transformer services, which are in high demand due to energy generation changes and grid updates. The acquisition allows IPS to address reliability challenges and provide comprehensive solutions to customers.

Surplec's founder and owner, Mario Lambert, highlighted the recycling and reuse model the company has developed for transformers, which has garnered a strong reputation in the Canadian industry. Lambert expressed his pride in the acquisition, stating that it would consolidate their strengths in Quebec and accelerate their planned expansions across Canada. The combination of IPS and Surplec brings optimism for future projects and growth opportunities.
