Ingeteam Supplies Over 1,000 MW of Solar PV Technology for Acciona Energía Projects in the USA

29 Aug 2024
Ingeteam has announced the delivery of over 1,000 MW of solar photovoltaic (PV) power conversion systems and controls for Acciona Energía in the United States. This significant supply supports two major photovoltaic projects in Wharton and Fort Bend counties, Texas, contributing to the reduction of CO2 emissions by around 650,000 tonnes annually.

The first project, with a capacity of 317 MW AC, utilizes 48 transformer stations and 185 central inverters from Ingeteam. This project marks the first large-scale installation of Ingeteam's technology for Acciona Energía in the U.S. The second project, featuring a capacity of 458 MW AC, is equipped with 71 medium voltage Full Skid transformer stations and 131 INGECON SUN 3Power C Series central inverters. The contract also includes commissioning services and a Power Plant Controller for both plants.

Ingeteam is also nearing the final commissioning phase of a third project in Ohio, which involves 325 MW AC of solar power. This project includes 62 Full Skid transformer stations and 124 central inverters, along with the PPC control system.

With these projects, Ingeteam reinforces its position as a leading technology partner in the renewable energy sector, having supplied over 5 GW of solar technology for utility-scale plants in the U.S. The company's continued collaboration with Acciona Energía highlights their commitment to advancing sustainable energy solutions and contributing to the global decarbonization effort.

Nohra Nasr, Ingeteam's VP and General Manager of the solar PV, energy storage, and green hydrogen business unit, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership and the ongoing efforts to support a sustainable energy future.
