INDIA - India Grid Trust (IndiGrid), an infrastructure investment trust (InvIT), will acquire five electricity transmission assets worth $1.66 billion from Sterlite Power.

India Grid Trust was established in 2016 to own inter-state power transmission assets in India, reports The Hindu Business Line.

It currently manages a portfolio of six electricity transmission assets with a total network of power transmission lines that span over 2,088 circuit miles across nine states in India.

The purchase of Sterlite Power's electricity transmission assets will significantly expand IndiGrid's portfolio and enable it to address India's infrastructure needs, the company said.
