INDIANA - American Electric Power's (AEP) Indiana Michigan Power (I&M) is planning to upgrade the 69 kV transmission grid in Winchester, Indiana through the Winchester Area Improvements Project.

The project includes upgrading about one mile of 69 kV transmission line, expanding the existing Anchor Hocking substation, making minor upgrades to the Winchester substation and rebuilding some sections of the line in the company's existing ROW, as well as the possible re-routing of other sections.
The project area includes the City of Winchester and Randolph County.
I&M expects construction to begin in spring 2022 and conclude in summer 2025, while restoration activities would be complete in fall 2025, reports Daily Energy Insider.
