HUF 700 million ($1.7 million) worth of service work is completed by Ganz in the Netherlands and Indonesia

7 Nov 2022

Budapest, HUNGARY - The company is focusing on further expanding its service business, both geographically and technologically.

Ganz Transformers and Electric Rotating Machines Ltd. has announced that they have completed significant service projects worth HUF 700 million ($1.7 million). The Hungarian company, which manufactures transformers, high-performance electric motors, and generators, and services high-voltage equipment, has carried out maintenance work on gas-insulated switchgear (GIS) at the Darmo Grande power substation in Indonesia and for the Dutch company, Damco Aluminium Delfzijl Coöperatie (Aldel).

According to Ganz Transformers, following a successful reorganizational process in 2020, the company is focusing on further expanding its service business, both geographically and technologically. In addition to installing, testing and commissioning the products, the heavy equipment manufacturer company also supports its customers with on-site diagnostics, spare parts, and lifetime management, not only for Ganz's equipment but also for other brands.

"The fact, that in addition to manufacturing and operating, our company also provides maintenance work for our customers is a unique feature in the transmission and distribution (T&D) sector, as currently only Ganz's specialists have the technical expertise to carry out such service activities. The projects completed in Indonesia and the Netherlands are therefore also significant in terms of strengthening the international position of our appliance service division" - said Jan Prins, managing director of Ganz Transformers and Electric Rotating Machines Ltd.

According to the company, since January 2022, for the Darmo Grande - Simpang electric substation in East Java, Indonesia, the company's technicians have been supervising the full maintenance work of the GIS equipment, that was manufactured in 1988 at the factory in Tápiószele. The HUF 620 million ($1.5 million) worth of service project, carried out for almost six months on-site, was completed at the end of August, and the unit was successfully commissioned by Ganz's technicians.
