Hitachi Energy Supplies Color-Coded Transformers for Swiss Data Center Project
Hitachi Energy has begun supplying custom-made distribution transformers for a new digital infrastructure project in Switzerland, supporting the expansion of data center capacity for Swiss operator Green, the company announced.
The project involves the delivery of color-coded distribution transformers designed to align with Green’s visual classification system across its on-site power supply chain. The color-coding enables operational teams to quickly identify transformers and power supply branches, improving clarity in complex or time-sensitive environments.
According to Hitachi Energy, the approach is intended to simplify maintenance activities, support safer operations, and enhance overall efficiency within data center facilities, where reliability and uptime are critical.
The transformers are part of Hitachi Energy’s broader portfolio for data centers, focusing on durability, energy efficiency, and reduced environmental impact over the equipment lifecycle. The company said such solutions are increasingly important as demand for digital infrastructure continues to grow across Europe.
The Switzerland-based project marks an early milestone for Hitachi Energy in 2026 and reflects broader industry investment in resilient and sustainable power systems to support data-intensive operations. No financial terms or delivery volumes were disclosed.
