Hitachi Energy has strengthened its commitment to sustainable manufacturing, with two of its local facilities in Beijing and Datong receiving the National Green Factory designation from China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT). This recognition brings the total number of Hitachi Energy's certified green factories in China to four.

The National Green Factory initiative, launched in 2017, aims to enhance clean production, resource efficiency, and low-carbon energy use across China's industrial sector. By 2024, over 6,400 factories had been certified under this program.

The newly recognized sites--Hitachi Energy Power System Co. Ltd. in Beijing and Hitachi Energy Datong Traction Transformers Co. Ltd.--have integrated green development principles into their operations. Both facilities align with Hitachi Energy's global goal of achieving carbon neutrality by 2030, committing to sourcing 100% fossil-free electricity.

The Beijing facility, a key manufacturing hub for high-voltage direct current (HVDC) technology, has optimized its energy management, transportation, and recycling systems, reducing per-unit energy consumption by 15% and annual water use by 30%.

The Datong base, specializing in traction transformers, has implemented energy-efficient equipment, solar water heating, and clean electricity sourcing, cutting its per-unit energy consumption by nearly 30% and office electricity use by 50%. Additionally, it has advanced eco-friendly transformer technology, emphasizing recyclability and reduced environmental impact.

With its continued progress in green manufacturing, Hitachi Energy reinforces its role in China's industrial sustainability efforts.
