Germany Delivers 20 Transformers to Ukrenergo
Germany has delivered 20 capacitive voltage transformers to Ukrenergo, providing new equipment to replace systems damaged during recent attacks on Ukraine's energy infrastructure.
According to Ukraine's Ministry of Energy, the equipment, valued at approximately $554,000 (€486,000), was supplied through the Energy Support Fund for Ukraine and distributed across four regions. The transformers are designed for use at high-voltage substations, where they help measure system voltage and support protection, monitoring and grid automation.
The replacement of damaged equipment is expected to improve the resilience of Ukraine's electricity network and support more reliable power supplies for consumers in affected areas.
The delivery forms part of ongoing international assistance aimed at restoring and protecting Ukraine's energy sector, which has sustained repeated damage during the war. The Ministry of Energy said the new equipment will contribute to strengthening the country's energy security and help accelerate repairs to critical infrastructure.
The announcement follows broader international efforts to support Ukraine's energy system, including additional recovery and energy security funding pledged by partner countries.
