SAINT-BRIEUC, FRANCE - Ailes Marines has selected GE Grid Solutions to provide and install the main electrical equipment for the substation on the Saint-Brieuc Bay offshore wind farm in the northwest of France.
The power transformers for the project will be manufactured at GE's Gebze plant in Turkey.
The 72.5 kV and 225 kV gas insulated switchgear will be manufactured at its French plant in Aix-les-Bains. The substation's control and protection system will be designed in Montpellier, France.
GE Grid Solutions forecasts that the electrical substation's commissioning tests will take place during 2022.
