FortisBC proposes to upgrade Kelowna facility with a new transformer

KELOWNA, BRITISH COLUMBIA - Canadian utility company FortisBC has proposed a $17.1 million (CAD$23.2 million) upgrade project that would see a new transformer installed at its facility in the city of Kelowna.

As part of the Kelowna Bulk Transformer Addition Project, the company would Install a new 120/160/200 MV, 230/138 kV bulk transformer at the FA Lee Terminal in East Kelowna, upgrade the substation and realign some existing transmission structures outside the FA Lee Terminal station.
The project is aimed to ensure reliable electricity supply particularly during periods of peak power consumption.
