Firefighters successfully battle fire at Florida Transformer, Inc.
DEFUNIAK SPRINGS, FLORIDA - Around 11:26 p.m. Wednesday firefighters from Walton County teamed up and responded to a fire at a local transformer company in DeFuniak Springs, Florida Transformer, Inc.
Coming to scene, firefighters found heavy black smoke coming from one of the buildings containing dangerous chemicals and electrical equipment, reports WJHG.
Knowing an explosion was imminent, firefighters cut off power to the facility. They entered the building and found flames coming from one of the ovens housing multiple transformers.
The blaze was successfully extinguished, and the cause of the fire is to be investigated.
