Through the EU Civil Protection Mechanism, Estonia has supplied Ukraine with over 140 transformers and 300 units of energy equipment, Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal announced during a meeting with Estonian Prime Minister Kristen Michal in Kyiv.

"We appreciate Estonia's contribution to Ukraine's energy sustainability," Shmyhal stated. "Support has been provided at the state, regional, municipal, and private sector levels."

Estonia's assistance extends beyond energy support. As the first country to take patronage over Ukraine's Zhytomyr region, Estonia has funded several infrastructure projects, including the construction of a kindergarten, a road bridge, and a family-type home. Estonia has also contributed to developing a Maritime Industry Recovery Plan and strategies to attract donor support for Ukraine.

Michal reaffirmed Estonia's commitment to supporting Ukraine, noting additional shipments of turbines, generators, and transformer stations scheduled to arrive next month. Estonia's total defense and humanitarian aid to Ukraine has reached nearly EUR 542 million.
