Entergy Louisiana’s $100m reliability project under way

5 Dec 2019

LOUISIANA - Entergy Louisiana began construction on its $100 million reliability project in Jefferson and Plaquemines Parishes that aims to boost delivery of reliable energy to existing and future customers in the area.

The project includes the construction of a new substation, improvements to several existing substations, addition of a new transmission line, and upgrades to several existing transmission lines, reports T&D World.

The new Churchill substation will be constructed between Westwego and Avondale and will serve as a new junction point for several existing and new 230 kV lines.

Two existing substations, Alliance and Barataria, are undergoing major expansions to support planned and future 230 kV lines to accommodate future growth in the area.

The project is expected to be finished in mid-2020.
