Enevo Installs 80 MVA Transformer in Romania’s Largest PNRR Solar Project

30 Apr 2025
An 80 MVA transformer and a 110/20 kV substation form the backbone of a new 69 MW solar park completed in TeiuÈ™, Alba County, by a consortium led by Enevo Group for Eurowind Energy.

The infrastructure, delivered under a €24.3 million EPC contract, is key to integrating the energy generated by the CEF Teiuș photovoltaic plant into the national grid. The transformer ensures stable and efficient voltage conversion from the solar park's output to grid-ready power, supporting over 103 GWh of annual production.

The facility uses tracker-mounted panels, optimizing sunlight capture throughout the day. In addition to energy generation, the 80.5-hectare site also supports dual land use, allowing grazing by 130 local livestock farmers.

The overall investment amounts to €55 million, with €15 million in funding from Romania's National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR), making it the largest energy project supported by the plan to date.

The transformer station and substation were developed by Enevo Group, in collaboration with Alpin Sun and Electroalfa--all experienced players in Romania's energy infrastructure sector.
