ENEE to invest $177m in Honduras national electricity grid

HONDURAS - The National Electric Power Company of Honduras, ENEE, recently announced an investment plan to expand the transformation capacity in the transmission network of the Sula Valley.


The investment estimated at around $177 million includes expansion of substations and acquisition of new transformers with an aim to strengthen the national transmission network and improve the reliability of the electricity supply in the country, ENEE said in the press release.

Currently the national electricity system has 79 substations, of which 70 are owned by ENEE and located mostly in the North and coastal areas of Honduras.
