Enedis replaces two power transformers in Paris, France

16 Jul 2021
FRANCE - The French utility EDF's subsidiary Enedis has delivered power transformers to replace older units at two sites in the capital.

On the night of June 29 to 30, after months of preparation, Enedis transported two power transformers through downtown Paris, France.
While it is unusual for two such operations to be carried out simultaneously, this was done to reduce the environmental impact, Enedis said in a press release.
The units were transported from the factory to their respective sites, the source substations Folies-Méricourt in the 9th arrondissement, and Cardinal Lemoine in the 5th.
"Each source substation supplies more than 100,000 Parisians. Our mission is to make these structures invisible to the eyes of Parisians," said a source from the Agency for the Maintenance and Operation of Source Posts (AMEPS).
The transformers were deployed by Enedis as part of the modernization of the Parisian electricity network.
