EMS to Build 400/110 kV Substation in Belgrade by 2027
Elektromreza Srbije (EMS), Serbia’s power grid operator, has signed a $58 million (€50 million) contract for the construction of a 400/110 kV substation in Belgrade. The substation, named TS Beograd 50, is part of the broader BeoGrid 2025 project, which has a total value of $238 million (€205 million) and aims to strengthen Serbia’s electricity transmission network and regional connections.
The contract covers the procurement and delivery of key substation components, with construction works expected to be completed by 2027. TS Beograd 50 will enhance the reliability and capacity of Serbia’s power grid and support regional electricity transit.
As part of the BeoGrid 2025 project, two high-voltage transmission lines linking Belgrade with Novi Sad were launched in August, worth $25 million (€22 million). The initiative is also tied to the North Continental South East Corridor (North CSE Corridor), which aims to upgrade transmission lines connecting Serbia with Romania, and integrate into the Trans-Balkan Electricity Corridor.
