Emerald Transformer and Texas Transformers Expand U.S. Transformer Assembly

6 Aug 2026

Emerald Transformer and Texas Transformers & Equipment (TTE) have announced a strategic partnership to deliver U.S.-assembled pad-mounted transformers and substation solutions for utilities, data centers, renewable energy projects, and other critical infrastructure. Under the agreement, TTE will supply transformer and substation units, while Emerald Transformer will complete final assembly, electrical testing, commissioning support, and field technical services at its U.S. facilities.

The partnership is intended to expand domestic transformer assembly capacity and provide customers with a single-source solution covering final processing, oil filling, wiring, testing, shipment, and field support. According to the companies, the offering includes a five-year warranty and is designed to streamline project execution from manufacturing through commissioning.

Emerald Transformer will perform final processing activities including tanking, oil filling, wiring, electrical testing, and shipment, while also providing commissioning and field services for transformers, substations, and other critical power infrastructure. The companies said the partnership may also support projects subject to Build America, Buy America (BABA) requirements, with compliance assessed on a project-by-project basis according to applicable federal regulations and domestic content criteria.

Stuart Prior, Chief Executive Officer of Emerald Transformer, said the collaboration combines TTE's manufacturing expertise with Emerald's assembly, testing, and nationwide field service capabilities to support growing demand for reliable power infrastructure. Shrirang Golhar, Head of Sales and Engineering at Texas Transformers & Equipment, said the partnership strengthens the companies' ability to provide customers with U.S.-assembled transformer and substation solutions backed by commissioning and long-term technical support.
