Elea Data Centers Partners with WEG to Power AI Infrastructure in Brazil
Elea Data Centers, a leading provider of sustainable digital infrastructure in Brazil, has announced the purchase of advanced transformers from WEG, a global electro-electronic company. The transformers will power Elea's 50MW high-voltage site in São Paulo, marking a significant investment in the company's AI data center project. The deal is part of Elea's $300 million first-phase investment to support Brazil's growing digital economy and AI-driven infrastructure.
The transformers, manufactured at WEG's facility in GravataÃ, Brazil, are expected to be delivered in mid-2025. This collaboration also aligns with Elea's agreement with Vertiv, another industry leader, to supply cooling distribution units for liquid cooling, critical for AI applications.
Alessandro Lombardi, Chairman of Elea Data Centers, emphasized that the collaboration with WEG sets a new benchmark for data center reliability and sustainability.
