Efacec to Supply Power Transformers for Spain’s Transmission Network
Efacec Power Solutions SGPS, S.A., a Portuguese energy, engineering and mobility company, has been awarded a contract worth over $57 million (€50 million) by Spain’s transmission system operator Red Eléctrica to supply power transformers for the country’s transmission network.
The agreement, which extends until 2027, covers the design, manufacturing, delivery, and technical support of transformers intended for Red Eléctrica’s high-voltage infrastructure. The contract was awarded following a competitive selection process.
Under the agreement, Efacec will supply equipment tailored to the specifications of the transmission system operator. The company has previously delivered a 500 MVA, 420 kV multi-voltage transformer to Red Eléctrica, intended to operate as a reserve unit within the network.
Headquartered in Porto, Portugal, Efacec operates internationally and provides products and systems for energy and mobility applications, including transformers, switchgear, substations, and electric mobility infrastructure.
The contract is part of ongoing procurement activity related to the maintenance and development of Spain’s transmission infrastructure.
