BRAZIL -- Efacec Power Solutions Brazil (Efacec) has been contracted to provide services and equipment for ENEL Rio de Janeiro's transmission project.

Efacec will provide services and protection, control and automation equipment (SPCA) for the 138 kV Funil / Itatiaia transmission lines in the municipality of Resende, in Rio de Janeiro.

The project is part of a package of interventions that aim to modernize the distribution system of ENEL Rio de Janeiro.

The relationship between Efacec and ENEL Rio de Janeiro spans over two decades of partnership. Efacec was present in the digitalization project of the entire substation park between 2000 and 2003, as well as supplying ENEL Rio de Janeiro's first command center during the same period, the manufacturer said in a media release.

The project reinforces the presence of Efacec in Brazil, a market where has been operating for nearly three decades.
