Eaton Announces $340 Million Investment in New South Carolina Transformer Manufacturing Facility

12 Feb 2025
Eaton (NYSE: ETN), a leader in intelligent power management, is investing $340 million in a new manufacturing facility for three-phase transformers in Jonesville, South Carolina. The new facility, expected to begin production in 2027, is part of Eaton's strategy to address the increasing demand for transformers across utilities, data centers, industrial sectors, and large commercial customers.

The expansion will create 700 new local jobs, marking Eaton's 11th facility in South Carolina. The project is supported by a combination of local, state, and federal incentives, alongside partnerships with regional schools and workforce development initiatives to support hiring and training efforts.

South Carolina Governor Henry McMaster praised the investment, noting that it reflects the state's competitive business environment and skilled workforce. Senator Lindsey Graham also highlighted the significance of the project for South Carolina's continued leadership in grid modernization.

Eaton will continue to produce three-phase transformers at its existing sites in Waukesha, Wisconsin, and single-phase transformers in Nacogdoches, Texas. This expansion further strengthens Eaton's commitment to providing reliable, energy-efficient solutions and supporting the ongoing electrification and industrialization of the U.S. energy infrastructure.
