NEWPORT NEWS, VIRGINIA - The heavy haulage company Dynamic Specialized had to overcome some very specific challenges to move a massive power transformer from the shipping terminal to a local substation in Newport News.

Due to the height of the transporter, the shipping terminal was changed so that a local floating crane could discharge it to the trailer system, reports American Cranes & Transport.

From the Newport News terminal, the transformer took a 10-mile journey to the power plant, which involved several restrictions including utilizing city jurisdictional streets, getting onto the state-maintained roads, entering an interstate highway and getting back onto the city streets for the final delivery.

The haulage company used Faymonville ModulMAX G-SL trailer system assembled in a 4+6 combination with a flat deck.
