DEWA Reviews Bids for 132/11kV Substation Projects

The Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) is reviewing nine bids for the construction and commissioning of multiple 132/11kV substations. The tender, which was floated on May 20, 2024, attracted competitive offers from major international firms. The substations in question include the SNATSIHS and SCIENCEP facilities, along with an additional typical substation and related infrastructure.

 

Bids were submitted by August 29, 2024, with General Enterprises GECO offering the bid at $76 million. Other key bidders include Danway Electrical & Mechanical Engineering ($81 million), MBH Power and Energy DMCC ($89 million), AG Power ($105 million), and Larsen & Toubro ($105.4 million).

Higher bids came from Siemens Energy ($114 million), MAETEL Instalaciones Y Servicios Industriales ($121 million), Dineshchandra R. Agrawal Infracon ($122 million), and KEC International ($137 million).

DEWA rejected bids from IMCO Engineering & Construction Co., Kalpataru Projects International, and Mitsubishi Electric Corporation. The project is scheduled for completion by the fourth quarter of 2026, with the winning contractor responsible for delivering fully operational substations and all associated works.
