Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has inaugurated 20 new electricity substations in 2020, as part of its efforts to provide high-standard electricity and water services.
There are 23 400 kV substations in Dubai, including a substation in Dubai South with a conversion capacity of 2,020 MVA, and four new substations under construction.
The total number of 132 kV substations is 302, including 19 132 kV substations in several areas across Dubai with a conversion capacity of 2,700 MVA, and 42 new substations under construction.
The total cost of the substations has reached over $707 million, reports NS Energy.
