Delta Star, a power transformer and mobile substation manufacturer, has announced an $35 million expansion of its Lynchburg facility. The 80,000 sq. ft. addition will boost production capacity and meet growing demand across North America for efficient and reliable power infrastructure.

The investment follows a 2024 expansion that added a new metal fabrication plant and corporate headquarters. The new facility will include upgraded systems, advanced manufacturing equipment, and more space to support electrical grid modernization and renewable energy needs.

"This investment will increase our manufacturing capacity and advance our technological capabilities," said Jason Greene, Delta Star's president and CEO.

The expansion will create 300 jobs in manufacturing, engineering, and operations, reinforcing Lynchburg's position as a key energy manufacturing hub in Virginia.

Founded in 1908, Delta Star employs over 1,000 people and supports critical power infrastructure across the continent.
