Delmarva Power energizes two substations in Maryland

31 Mar 2020

MARYLAND - Exelon's Delmarva Power recently invested $17.5 million in the construction of a new Beaglin substation and upgrade of the existing Fruitland substation that are expected to enhance electric service for more than 21,000 customers across Wicomico County.

The cost of the upgrade of the Fruitland substation was $3 million, while new Beaglin substation represented a $14.5 million investment in the local energy grid, reports T&D World.

Both 69 kV substations are located in Wicomico County, and they are part of a broader reliability improvement effort that the company is implementing on the Eastern Shore to reduce outages and enhance the resiliency of the local energy grid.
