CPDL Installs Transformers Across Key Sectors in Chandigarh, India
Chandigarh Power Distribution Limited (CPDL) has installed three new 20 MVA power transformers at 66 kV substations in Industrial Area Phase-II, IT Park, and Sector 52, in a move to upgrade power infrastructure in the Union Territory of Chandigarh, India.
These installations aim to reduce the load on the existing power grid and better meet the city's growing electricity demand. Commissioning is expected immediately after approval from the UT Electrical Inspector.
Arun Kumar Verma, Director of CPDL, said the upgrades are crucial for supporting Chandigarh's urban growth. "These power transformers will not only reduce the load on existing infrastructure but will also enhance ability to meet future demand," he stated.
The transformer at Industrial Area Phase-II will address recurring load shedding issues in Phase-I and II, enabling more stable power for local industries. The IT Park installation will serve the increasing needs of Manimajra and adjacent areas, while the Sector 52 unit will benefit the southern sectors of Chandigarh, including Sectors 40-45, 50-63, and nearby residential zones.
