CHINT Supplies 75MVA Transformer for ENGIE Wind Power Project in Peru
Chinese electrical equipment manufacturer CHINT has provided a power transformer solution for the ENGIE Intipampa Wind Power Project located in Moquegua, Peru.
The project, developed by ENGIE, is part of ongoing renewable energy expansion efforts in the region. According to project details, CHINT delivered a customized 75MVA, 138kV oil-immersed power transformer, along with solar panels intended to support local energy infrastructure.
The equipment was designed for conditions described as high-altitude and exposed to strong winds and dust. The transformer features a fully sealed structure intended to improve resistance to environmental factors such as moisture and airborne particles, as well as to support grid stability in variable operating conditions.
CHINT stated that the solution was developed to meet requirements for long-term operation in challenging environments and was integrated into ENGIE’s supplier certification framework. Local service support in South America was also part of the deployment arrangement.
The Intipampa project contributes to Peru’s broader renewable energy development initiatives, particularly in wind energy generation in the southern region of the country.
