CHINT Completes 40 MVA Transformer Installation and Commissioning in Brindisi

A 40 MVA, 150 kV power transformer has been successfully installed, commissioned, and tested at a main substation in Brindisi, Italy.
The project included assembly, oil filling, and oil treatment, followed by a full set of Site Acceptance Tests (SAT). These tests covered electrical and functional verification, including Tan Delta, transformation ratio, DC resistance, SFRA, insulation, and operational performance checks.
All tests were completed successfully, confirming the transformer’s readiness for operation within the high-voltage substation.
The installation was carried out in a complex environment that included high-voltage SF6 switchgear, requiring strict safety procedures, technical precision, and coordinated execution.
The completion of the project marks the commissioning of a key grid asset intended to support reliable power transmission in the region.
