CG Power & Industrial Solutions Advances Transformer Capacity Expansion Plans
CG Power & Industrial Solutions has accelerated its transformer manufacturing expansion plans, advancing capacity additions ahead of its original timeline amid rising demand for power infrastructure equipment.
The company plans to increase its transformer manufacturing capacity from 40,000 MVA to 65,000 MVA, representing an incremental addition of 25,000 MVA. The move reflects strengthening demand across transmission and distribution projects, driven by grid expansion, renewable energy integration, and infrastructure upgrades.
In addition to expanding its existing facilities, CG Power & Industrial Solutions is also planning a new transformer manufacturing facility. The proposed unit is expected to add between 10,000 and 20,000 MVA of capacity and is targeted to become operational within the next two to three quarters. The project is currently in the planning stage.
The accelerated execution of these plans suggests confidence in sustained market demand and highlights the company’s focus on scaling domestic manufacturing capabilities. Once operational, the combined capacity additions from both the expansion and the new facility would significantly enhance production capacity and operational flexibility.
The development comes at a time when India’s power sector continues to see increased investment in grid modernization, renewable integration, and industrial electrification, supporting demand for high-capacity transformers.
