Central Maine Power gets green light for a new transmission line project

Central Maine Power Company has been granted a permit from the Department of Environmental Protection to build the New England Clean Energy Connect project.


The project includes construction of a 145-mile transmission line that will run from Beattie Township near the Quebec border to a new converter station that will be built in Lewiston.

It also includes several upgrades to the company's existing electrical transmission network between Lewiston and Pownal, Windsor and Wiscasset, and in Cumberland.
