Canada and Prince Edward Island to build a new transmission line

27 Aug 2020
The governments of Canada and Prince Edward Island are investing in the construction of a new transmission line that will run from Sherbrooke to Skinners Pond and support future wind energy projects.

The new 66-mile transmission line and its associated equipment will increase the province's capacity to manage the anticipated 40 MW from the future Skinner's Pond Windfarm planned for 2025 and provide connectivity to the Sherbrooke substation to the northeast of Summerside, reports Newswire.
The two governments are investing a total of $33.3 million (CAD$44 million) in this project through the Green Infrastructure Stream (GIS) of the Investing in Canada infrastructure program.
