The Brazilian Ministry of Mines and Energy has announced it will postpone national energy generation and transmission auctions until an unspecified date.

The ministry stressed on its website the auctions are being postponed rather than cancelled.

The National Energy Policy Council will evaluate when to resume the auctions.
