BlueNord Reports Smooth Progress on Tyra II Transformer Repairs

30 Sep 2024
BlueNord, in partnership with TotalEnergies and Nordsøfonden, has provided an update on the ongoing repair work for Denmark's largest offshore gas development, the Tyra II project. According to BlueNord, repairs on the second transformer are advancing as planned, and full technical capacity is expected by the end of 2024.

The transformer, identified as a technical issue in July 2024, is undergoing onshore repairs and is scheduled for installation offshore during the fourth quarter. This is the second transformer-related issue since the project's restart in March 2024, following an earlier problem resolved in late August 2024.

Despite these challenges, BlueNord anticipates the Tyra II ramp-up will proceed on schedule, with production expected to reach its maximum capacity by year-end. Production forecasts remain strong, with the fourth-quarter net average expected to be between 4.0 - 6.0 mboepd. BlueNord projects an exit rate from the Tyra field of approximately 30.0 mboepd by December.

The Tyra II project is critical for Denmark and Europe, as it delivers gas through pipelines to Denmark and the Netherlands. Once fully operational, the Tyra hub will produce 5.7 million cubic meters of gas and 22,000 barrels of condensate per day.
