Belgium’s Pauwels to Supply Power Transformers for French Grid
Belgium-based Pauwels Transformers, a subsidiary of Electrical Industries Company (EIC), has secured a contract to design, manufacture, and supply power transformers for Enedis, the main electricity distribution operator in France.
The five-year agreement is valued at $40.11 million (SAR 150.4 million), with an option to extend for an additional three years, potentially increasing the total contract value to $60.6 million (SAR 227.3 million). Production and design will take place at Pauwels Transformers’ Mechelen, Belgium facility, and the contract includes a price variation clause to account for fluctuations in raw material costs.
The deal represents an expansion of Pauwels Transformers’ operations in the European market and comes amid ongoing efforts to modernize electricity distribution infrastructure in France.
