Bangladesh’s Energypac Exports $2.4M Power Equipment to Nepal
Energypac Engineering Ltd, a Bangladeshi power engineering company, has exported power transformers and auxiliary substation equipment valued at $2.4 million to Nepal. The shipment is part of electrification projects commissioned by the Nepal Electricity Authority and financed by the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and the World Bank.
This is Energypac's first export since the Covid-19 pandemic. The company has previously commissioned 25 substations in Nepal under similar projects.
Officials of Energypac recently met with Ghanshyam Bhandari, Nepal's ambassador to Dhaka, to discuss trade relations and opportunities to strengthen bilateral economic cooperation.
Rabiul Alam, CEO of Energypac Engineering, described the shipment as a milestone for the company and noted its significance for Bangladesh's engineering sector, demonstrating the ability of local firms to meet global market demand.
Before the pandemic, Energypac averaged $50 million in annual exports and received multiple National Export Trophies in the Gold category for Electrical and Electronics.
