AZZ provides switchgear for Ameren Missouri’s state grid modernization projects

27 Jul 2021

MISSOURI -- AZZ Switchgear Systems is providing switchgear for Ameren Missouri's new Cross Keys substation, as part of the company's efforts to modernize the state electricity grid.

AZZ Switchgear Systems is a company that designs, manufactures, tests and installs electrical power distribution products.

"AZZ Switchgear Systems has been fortunate to be part of numerous infrastructure and reliability programs across the US, similar to the Ameren Smart Energy plan. We are very fortunate in the Fulton community to be able to work with a number of electrical distribution companies, contractors, fabricators, and we are fortunate to be able to support the community by growing those different suppliers and vendors as part of the overall health of our business," says Jonathan Wear, Sales Manager at AZZ Switchgear Systems.

As part of the efforts to modernize the state electricity grid, Ameren Missouri is building the new Cross Key substation, using the switchgear manufactured by AZZ Switchgear Systems.

"AZZ has been doing business with Ameren for well over 50 years. We have a great relationship with them," says Nathan Lepper, VP & General Manager, AZZ Switchgear Systems.

The substation should improve reliability and resiliency for 8,000 customers in North St. Louis County, Ameren Missouri said in a media release.
