ASTA Energy Solutions AG and GANZ Electric Expand Strategic Partnership

26 Feb 2026
ASTA Energy Solutions AG (ASTA) and GANZ Transformers and Electric Rotating Machines Plc. (GANZ Electric) have expanded their long-standing cooperation through a new strategic partnership agreement focused on strengthening Europe’s transformer supply chain.

The agreement centers on the reliable supply of high-quality copper components used in high-voltage transformers, including continuously transposed conductors (CTCs), multiple insulated wires and single wire conductors. The companies say the partnership will support low-loss power transmission, thermal resilience and operational reliability across Europe’s energy infrastructure.

Dr. Karl Schäcke, CEO of the ASTA Group, said the collaboration reflects a shared commitment to technological expertise and long-term energy stability. Gergely Gál, CEO of GANZ Electric, added that the partnership enhances supply security by reinforcing a fully integrated European value chain.

Copper plays a central role in transformer performance, affecting efficiency, service life and environmental impact. The companies stated that the expanded cooperation also promotes sustainable production practices, reduced carbon emissions and circular material concepts across the supply chain.

Founded in 1844, GANZ Electric has a long history in transformer manufacturing. ASTA, headquartered in Austria, specializes in multi-insulated copper winding materials for energy applications.

Thomas Trimmel, Managing Director of ASTA Europe, said the partnership underscores the need for reliable, high-performance transformers to support Europe’s energy transition.

The strengthened alliance comes amid increasing demand for resilient and locally sourced components within Europe’s power infrastructure sector.
