ASTA and Siemens Energy Extend Strategic Supply Agreement Through 2032
ASTA Energy Solutions AG and Siemens Energy have extended their long-term supply agreement through 2032, continuing a partnership focused on transformer manufacturing and high-voltage energy infrastructure projects across Europe.
The agreement was signed during CWIEME Berlin, an international trade fair for the electrical manufacturing industry. Under the deal, ASTA will continue supplying Siemens Energy’s European transformer facilities with continuously transposed conductors (CTCs) and other specialized copper components used in high-voltage equipment, including HVDC transformers and shunt reactors.
The companies said the extension is intended to support long-term supply stability as demand for transformers and grid infrastructure continues to rise across Europe and other markets.
“With the extension of our long-term agreement, we are further strengthening our strategic partnership with ASTA as one of the leading suppliers of copper conductors,” said Dr. Florian Bertram, Vice President Procurement of Siemens Energy Transformers.
According to ASTA, the components supplied under the agreement are used in large-scale energy infrastructure projects, including offshore grid connections and phase-shifting stations.
The Austrian manufacturer is also expanding production capacity in Europe through a new facility in Bosnia and Herzegovina, which is currently beginning operations. The company said the site is intended to help support future demand from the transformer industry and improve supply security for European customers.
“The contract extension is the result of fair and transparent negotiations as well as the high level of commitment and flexibility shown by both partners,” said Dr. Karl Schäcke, CEO of the ASTA Group.
