Appalachian Power to upgrade transmission network in Virginia

25 Sep 2019

VIRGINIA - Appalachian Power received an approval from the Virginia State Corporation Commission for its Glendale Area Improvements Project to be conducted in Carroll and Wythe counties in Virginia.

The $40 million project involves building a new substation and three miles of electric transmission line, reports Daily Energy Insider.

The transmission line will start at the new substation, which will be built off Glendale Road in Galax, and run north from there across Creekview Drive for about a mile before connecting to an existing transmission line.

Construction will begin early next year and conclude in early 2022.
