Appalachian Power to rebuild 14 miles of transmission line in West Virginia

American Electric Power's Appalachian Power and its affiliate, AEP West Virginia Transmission plan upgrades to the electric transmission system serving customers in Fayette County, W.Va., through the Carbondale-Kincaid Transmission Line Rebuild Project.

The project involves upgrading about 14 miles of transmission line to 69-kV standards, beginning at a substation located off Cannelton Hollow Road in Smithers Creek and ending at a substation near Kingston Road in Kincaid.
Construction is expected to begin in early 2022, and conclude by summer 2023, the company said in a press release.
