Anza Introduces New Service for Medium- and High-Voltage Transformer Procurement

20 Jan 2026
Anza, a solar and energy storage development and procurement platform, announced the launch of a Transformer Procurement Service focused on sourcing medium- and high-voltage transformers for energy, utility, and data center projects.

The company said the service will be led by Felicity Lunden, appointed Director of Transformer Procurement. Lunden has more than ten years of experience in substation procurement and has managed over 65 substation procurements in the United States. She previously worked at Quanta Infrastructure Solutions Group (QISG).

According to Anza, transformer procurement has become increasingly constrained due to extended manufacturing lead times, limited supplier visibility, and price variability. The company cited lead times ranging from approximately nine weeks to one year for medium-voltage transformers and two to four years for high-voltage equipment.

The new service compiles data from more than 45 transformer suppliers, providing information on pricing, delivery timelines, manufacturing origin, tariff exposure, and component sourcing. Additional features include technical specification reviews, supplier comparisons, and access to pre-negotiated Supplier Purchase Agreements (SPAs), which the company said may reduce contracting timelines.

The service also supports ITC Safe Harbor qualification, a consideration for solar developers seeking to meet federal tax credit requirements ahead of upcoming deadlines. Anza stated that transformer components relevant to safe harbor qualification are currently experiencing lead times of approximately 18 to 20 weeks.

The announcement reflects broader supply chain challenges affecting electrical infrastructure and renewable energy development in the United States, where transformer availability has been cited as a limiting factor for project timelines.
