Ameren Missouri and the Ameren Transmission Company will rebuild approximately 10 miles of transmission line running through St. Louis city and county as part of a reliability improvement, clean energy access and growth support initiative.

The line runs on the right-of-way in south St. Louis, crossing the Mississippi River to end in Dupo, Illinois.

The project is part of Ameren Missouri's Smart Energy Plan, a major energy infrastructure plan focused on speeding the transition to cleaner energy and introducing more affordable rates, reports Daily Energy Insider.

Work should conclude in winter 2022.
