Abengoa has been awarded a contract by Chile's transmission operator Transelec for the expansion of a 220 kV electrical substation in the Antofagasta region in Chile.

Abengoa will be responsible for the engineering review, partial acquisitions, construction, assembly and commissioning of the substation.

The substation upgrades are part of the expansion plan of the Chilean national transmission system.
