ABB signs electrification contract for Finland’s new bioproduct mill

Swiss electrical equipment manufacturer, ABB, has signed an agreement with Metsä Group's subsidiary, Metsä Fibre to supply electrification and drive technology solutions for a new bioproduct mill in Finland.



For the project, ABB Power Grids Finland will deliver the transformer for the Kemi project while the main transformers for the mill will be manufactured at the ABB Power Grids transformer facility in Vaasa, reports NS Energy.

ABB will also supply more than 1,000 electric motors.

The planned mill will have a production capacity of 1.5 million tons of pulp annually, along with many other bioproducts.
