A-Rent to Expand Electrical Test Equipment Fleet
A-Rent Test Equipment has announced a majority growth investment from Bregal Sagemount to expand its electrical test equipment fleet, distribution network, load bank capabilities and technology infrastructure.
Founded in 2019 by Paul Seppanen, A-Rent provides equipment rentals, calibration and asset management services for testing critical power infrastructure, including transformers, relays, cables and circuit breakers. The company serves more than 1,000 active customers across utilities, engineering firms, contractors, manufacturers and data center operators.
The investment will support additional equipment, new distribution locations and expanded load bank capabilities for data center testing and commissioning. A fifth distribution facility is scheduled to open in Hillsboro, Oregon, in late 2026.
“Our customers rely on us to provide calibrated, project-ready equipment when and where they need it,” Seppanen explained, highlighting the company’s focus on equipment availability and technical service.
The broader market opportunity is also linked to rising power demand. In the view of Will Breskman, Partner at Sagemount, “Growing power demand from data centers, grid modernization and electrification is increasing the need for testing across both new and existing infrastructure.”
The partnership is expected to support A-Rent’s expansion while maintaining the technical expertise and responsive service that underpin its offering.
